Community Building Workshop #2

On August 6th the RebuildPotrero team hosted a 2nd Community Building Workshop at the Potrero Hill Rec. Center to finalize plans for the Community Building Action Day. Courtesy of the Enterprise Foundation, Joy Bryngelson joined us for a second presentation on the mechanics of community-building over the duration of the project. Her presentation highlighted the importance of long-term goals, intermediate steps, and small victories. With the big-picture in mind, we focused our attention on our first Community Building Action Day. Reviewing the agenda created by the working group, participants signed up for committees to help with Set-Up, Kids’ Activities, the Pot-luck, the Gardening Project, the Mosaic Tile Art Project and Clean-Up. Over dinner from Hazel’s Kitchen, small groups formed around these topics to discuss and plan for the logistics for the day.
