Town Hall Meeting #4
February 23, 2010
Final Master Plan Presentation & Celebration
The Town Hall Meeting on February 23rd drew the largest number of Potrero Hill residents of any meeting to date. Many thanks to the Potrero Boosters who allowed the Rebuild Potrero Team to use their monthly meeting time at the Neighborhood House to hold this important meeting. The night kicked-off with an “Open House”—an opportunity for residents from across the hill to review the design boards, site plans and scale model of the site, and talk with the Rebuild Potrero team about the proposed development. After the Open House, the design team presented the proposed final Master Plan.
This proposed final Master Plan builds on the “Preferred Plan” from the Design Open House in May 2009. This plan was then refined and presented at the Town Hall Meeting on October 27th as well as in resident meetings throughout October and November. Based on comments and feedback from these events, the design team made several changes to the plan highlighted in this presentation. This plan also included more detailed information about the buildings and housing types that could be incorporated into the site layout previously presented. Please see the attached PowerPoint for more information about the proposed design for the redevelopment.
After the design team’s presentation, the night opened up for extended time for Q&A. The document, “Answers to Community Questions,” includes responses to many of the questions posed at this meeting. At the end of the formal Q&A period, celebratory drinks and snacks were shared and neighbors and residents once again had a chance to speak with the design team.
The Town Hall provided an opportunity for many Potrero Hill residents new to this process, in addition to the regular participants, to ask questions and learn about next steps. The exchange of ideas and involvement of the community is critical to the success of the project and we look forward to continued participation of residents and community members. Please check the upcoming events page for opportunities to get involved.
